About the positions

President

Ultimate responsible for the association's operations, as well as the authorised signatory. Leads the work of the board and acts as the convener. This primarily involves internal tasks such as supporting other board members in their work and preparing for board meetings, but it may also include duties such as representation and the establishment of contracts.

Vice President

Assists the president and substitutes the president in his absence. Maintains contacts with the association's partners, such as Folkuniversitet, and serves as the liaison between our collaborating organisations. The vice president shall also serve as a helping hand for the other board members.

Treasurer

Responsibilities include managing the association's budget and financial statements, as well as being a signatory on behalf of the organisation. The treasurer oversees the association's liquid assets as well as other assets. Additionally, they have a significant voice in decisions regarding financial matters. These financial matters may include our finances, event financing, investments, or other expenses.

Head of Communication

Responsible for providing information about the association's activities through the website and social media, as well as being in charge of marketing and PR. This includes, among other things, informing members about what is happening in the association and about events through our social media platforms.

Secretary

Responsible for and oversees the administration of the association, writing protocols at board meetings, as well as for the membership and alumni register. This includes, among other things, preparing agendas for board meetings and having overall responsibility for the registration of new association members during the inspark.

Head of Event

Being overall responsible for the activities of the event committee and reporting its work to the board. This primarily involves planning and coordinating various types of events together with the members and other student associations, as well as convening committee meetings.

Vice Event

Supports the activities of the Event Committee and reports its work back to the board. The planning of various types of events, collaborations with other student associations and committee meetings is done both in collaboration with the Head of event and independently.

Head of Education

Ultimately responsible for the Education Committee's operations and reports its work to the board. In practice, the role of the Head of Event involves appointing student representatives to the various positions within the committee, monitoring studies, and participation in program council meetings. There are also great opportunities to organise lectures and activities such as a Career Day. All work of the Head of Education is closely collaborated with Vice Education as well as other members of the board.

Vice Education

Assistant to the Head of Education, and replaces them in their absence. Vice Education is also responsible for organising the “Mentorship Program” as well as represents UPaD for the Uppsala Student Union. Additionally, assist the Head of Education in finding student representatives for the various positions within the committee, as well as organising lectures and activities.

Head of Sports

The ultimate responsible for UPaD's sports committee, and appoints a sports committee consisting of at least three people. The position entails, among other things, leading the football team Grodan Boll United (GBU) as well as the basketball team. They are also responsible for the registration to the football tournament with Campus 1477. Head of Sports should also, together with the committee, organise a sports day during the inspark.

Alternate Member

Does not have any fixed tasks but functions as a support to other board members by participating in various tasks as needed. Hence, there is a great opportunity for the Alternate Member to lead own projects. Unlike previous roles, the member has both the right to voice opinions and the right to vote.
